The Pearl of Africa
While the lure of Uganda are the Mountain Gorillas found in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the country has much more to offer and you should seriously consider a more in-depth safari to this underutilized country. The following 13-day safari is my recommendation.

Uganda Gorilla Trekking
If your only objective is to go gorilla trekking, you will need a minimum of 6-days unless you charter an aircraft. It takes up to 12 hours to drive from Entebe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. That is 24 hours round trip to spend one hour on two consecutive days in the presence of the Mountain Gorillas.

Rwanda Gorilla Trekking
I am pleased that at publication time, gorilla trekking in Rwanda is operational and thriving. Hopefully, this is still the case as you reading this. The great thing about visiting the gorillas in Rwanda is that you can depart Nairobi in the morning and be having a close-up gorilla experience the next morning.
